Mood music

Nothing like a little music to stir things up.

Feeling a bit in a rut, with no money, no plans for the weekend, and knowing I should get about the housework, I seemed rather unmotivated.

Maybe some music will help? Cue Spotify.

I went out of the box, to get in the mood. Inspired by a recent mini doco I saw, I threw on some Eminem, and set up the ironing board outside in the winter sun. I love that he did so well against the odds, and always love an underdog. That wasn’t too bad, but it got me thinking – this is the new generation music, so what was I listening to when I was a teenager? Let’s step back from Eminem, to Dr. Dre, who took him on.

Cue the oven cleaner, with N.W.A to the max. Holy shit, I’d almost forgotten the outspoken lyrics and bad ass beats. Transported in time, I kicked ass through the oven, washing and whipping up some poached eggs for breakfast. Talk about a shift in mood!

I rolled on through my teenage sons bedroom with his folded washing, as he stares at me with wide eyes, like wtf?

“Put your clothes away and make your mother fucking bed. If you fuck with me, I’ll put my foot in yo ass.”

Hahaha, Fuck the Police. Bitch. Basket drop.

May political correctness never get so crazy that we can’t listen to this stuff.

Dad out..
